Redfish are always ready to be pulled from the waters off Edisto Island no matter the time of year. Fall and winter offer the best opportunities to cast into Edisto Island's largest schools. Late summer and fall offer opportunities for casting into tailing Redfish on the short grass. Other species offering year-round fishing around Edisto Island include flounder, spotted sea trout and sheepshead.
Fishing Edisto Island also offers seasonal changes providing anglers with new and exciting challenges. Seasonal species include Spanish Mackerel, Ladyfish, Jack Crevalle, Bluefish and Sharks.
Edisto Island Deep Sea Fishing
Trolling for tuna, dolphin, and wahoo makes fishing the waters off Edisto Island an adventure not soon to be forgotten. Other large sportfish ready to be caught include sailfish, blue marlin, white marlin, sharks, king mackerel, cobia and a number of other species we don't have enough room to list here.
Edisto Island fishing is also famous for its annual Edisto Marina Billfish Tournament. An Annual Edisto Tradition for 21 Years, the tournament kicks off each year at Edisto Marina and is a large part of the South Carolina Governor's Cup Billfishing Series.
