Edisto Island United Methodist Church

Edisto Island UMC History- EIUMC was organized in 1987 when six people responded to the call to form a mission church. After meeting at the Lions club for several years, the growing congregation built a sanctuary on Palmetto Road on land donated by Luther Lee. It was dedicated August 28, 1994 and the church was officially charted in 1996. A second building, named after Rev. J. R. Jones, was completed in 1999, and the ground breaking for the education and office building was commemorated in June 2001.

A very friendly church! Services are casual dress with a traditional UM worship service.

Church can happen anywhere.  It happens when we create learning opportunities that transform lives. It happens when we create safe environments where children can play and learn. It happens when education makes the path to citizenship a little easier. And when our sacrifices help nourish students’ minds and bodies. That’s putting beliefs into action.
